Carmel Baptist Church is in Matthews, NC. Carmel planted Redeemer Church in the fall of 2019 and continues to operate as our mothership, providing oversight, accountability, and backend services. We have a three year financial partnership that provides for Redeemer to move towards financial independence. Carmel is a Southern Baptist Church that was planted in the 1960 by Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Sojourn Network is a national church planting network consisting of over 80 churches. Based in Louisville, KY, Sojourn's mission is to plant thriving churches. Sojourn churches are closely aligned with the theology, philosphy, and ministry practices of Redeemer and provide a healthy environment for peer-to-peer collaboration in church planting and discipleship. ForCLT is a Charlotte nonprofit that exists to "unite the church to transform the city." They create platforms and networks that facilitate relationships between churches, pastors, nonprofit leaders, and business leaders in Charlotte. They also fund research that provides real-time data on the most critical area of need in Charlotte. We are glad to be part of the ForCLT Union County network as well as the ForCLT Church Planting network.
