Membership

Human beings were designed for deep connection and communion with other people. Church membership is one of the ways we seek to embody this design.

Process Overview

  1. Member Application

  2. Membership Class

  3. Member Interview

  4. Member Induction

Process Explanation

Church membership is about belonging to a deeply connected community of faith. We believe that the healthiest place for spiritual formation is within a community where members are publicly committed to seeking each other’s good. Members view the Redeemer community as their primary “place” for spiritual formation, relationships, and mission.

Application.

Our online member application helps us get to know more about you, your family, and your spiritual journey. This allows us to be more intentional in helping you becoming a thriving member of the our community.

The application is part of the registration process for the Membership Class.

Class.

Each Membership Class is a single, 3-hour session (usually on Tuesday or Thursday evening) that covers the vision, values, and practices of Redeemer Church. Classes are informal and limited to about 15 people to encourage discussion.

Interview.

We have found that face-to-face interaction is the best way to facilitate relationships and trust. A member interview is simply a conversation with one or more Redeemer Elders as a follow up from Class. This gives all of us a chance to ask questions and get more specific about your next steps.

Induction.

The final step is a public membership induction that takes place as part of a Redeemer worship service. This is where new and existing member renew the vows that create the member relationship.
